The DDL Wizard
Custom Rule Apply Dialog Box

The DDL Wizard Custom Rule Apply Dialog Box
The Custom Rule Apply dialog box provides a method of targeting object rule changes at specific DDL objects or
collections of objects. There is a group of radio buttons for every option and the panels at the bottom
provide a summary of the effect of the rule.
Using the Custom Rule Apply Dialog Box
To specify the options for a rule select from among the options in each group. The
panels at the bottom of the dialog box will change to reflect the current state. When you are satisfied with the
settings press the Apply button to activate the object rule.
What the Options do
- Target Users
- This option indicates which users will be affected by this rule. The object rule can target objects
owned by the current objects schema or all schema objects. It is not possible for one object rule to
specify two or more individual users. Create two separate object rules if this action is required.
- Target Object Types
- The Target Object Types option specifies the type of DDL object the rule should apply to.
The object rule can target a specific object type or all schema relevant object types. It is not
possible for one object rule to specify two or more DDL object types. Create two separate object
rules if this action is required. Note: If you apply a rule to all object types the DDL Wizard will
detect if a rule is not applicable and ignore it. For example: you do not have to worry about applying storage
clause rules to sequences.
- Target Object Names
- The Target Object Names option specifies the name of the DDL object the rule should apply to.
The object rule can target a specific object by name, all objects or a wild card name match of the
form XYZ*, *XYZ and *XYZ*.
Remember: Any DDL object can be targeted by multiple rules. If there is more than one object rule
affecting a specific component (PCTFREE for example), then the most specific applicable object rule will be used.
